![]() ![]() There was a dog bath that I forced my husband to keep (telling him we'd use as a utility sink, which we do, but knowing full well I would push, push, push for a puppy.) We added a puppy this past August, and now I can bathe him comfortably and fill buckets and throw wet snow suits, and dirty towels, and and and with ease! I hemmed and hawed over adding wood floors to all bedrooms-I know a lot of people think they're very cold and unwelcoming, but with allergies and pukey kids, we prefer them. Aside from one cabinet where I wish I would have done pull out drawers, we've been thrilled. I was most worried about the function of the kitchen as we'd never lived here before renovating it, but we pretty much just stayed within the same footprint and I scoured my old house's cabinets looking for issues I had with the storage there, etc. ![]() We were expecting a nightmare, based on way too much HGTV consumption, but it was the best project ever. The contractor did a wonderful job with the vision we presented and I'm proud to say I did all the design work myself (logging many, many hours on Houzz and various design sites, of course). We were able to get a long close on the home we sold and didn't have to live through renovations (until the very, very end, which was huge). The renovation began in May of 2015 and took until late fall. Oh, thanks for checking in! We have been in our 'new' house for over a year now and couldn't be happier. I just know that my first experience with a front loading washer wasn't all that spectacular. I like the ones without the agitator because it allows for more room and makes it easier to wash larger items such as comforters. I definitely prefer the stainless steel tub. ![]() A top loading washer is just so much simpler. I was able to control this using white distilled vinegar, and cleaning it constantly. ![]() What will happen is it will cause your clothes to smell like mildew. Meaning, there isn't enough airflow to allow them to fully dry, and this is because of their design. A big problem with front loading washers is mold and mildew buildup, due to lack of proper ventilation. In my personal experience, the front loaders are not worth the money they cost, they are much heavier and harder to move and they have to be cleaned often. I've had both, and I can tell you, there's nothing like good old traditional design. ![]()
